Deer Valley is famous for its luxury amenities and usually ranks as one of the best ski resorts nationwide. In the 2002 Winter Olympics, Deer Valley became a host to the freestyle moguls, aerial and alpine slalom events. This place is also host competitions for the International Ski Federation.

Once considered as sister to Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Resort was sold by American Skiing Company in 1997 and renamed The Canyons Resort. At present, The Canyons is managed by Talisker Corporation.
